I just got an e-mail from EMECO today confirming that so far no price change memo has been received - therefore it is IMOP likely that the old prices can be still had for the next few days until further notice.

Uh... maybe AMADEUS with the airlines that use AMADEUS, but if they're operating as GSA for AA, they have to use SABRE. Which is the only way I can communicate with them and the DUB rate desk!

Their SABRE however is the 'old' carbon paper kind of ticket and are thus not restricted to 16 segments for now.

Well, with EMECO my ex-CAI AONE5 went through at $5600 US (I left a couple of nicely taxable open stopovers on there) on the 11th, so there remains hope. The DFW RTW desk was highly amused I was trying to beat the price increases but very helpful. Of course, now I have to make a decision as to whether to go for the JFK ticket promotion and dump one of my MIA-RNO segs...

Oh, and don't use Amex travel in Giza. They are worthless and nearly cost me this ticket...

Anyone knows if the ex-CAI prices were actually increased or not? If so, what are the new prices?

30% across the board for business and 40% for first.

Interesting.

As of mid-December Emeco is no longer using the old red-carbon tickets, they have since switched to a modern ATB ticket printer.

AONE3 at USD5728 still makes it a competitive starting point, given its reasonable access.

Thanks for letting me know. My last trip to their office was in April 2003. But I queue messages to their office now and then just to say hi.

The modern ATB ticket printer can only print a maximum of 16 segments. However, the old outdated ticket printer doesn't have such a limitation.

Hmmm, ticket printing technology seems to be going backwards .
