Jon - that was my feeling too. However, I got an AA ticketing person in SYD on the phone and called up the rules that ExMo had pointed me to previously. She called up the AA * file to compare and agreed that it seemed I should be able to do it. Just got a call back from her to say she had been in touch with the DFW rate desk and they have approved the itin. (yay!). It is now priced and ready to ticket. Later today (my time) I will contact Cairo and hopefully this whole thing will be locked down once and for all.

If memory serves -- and it isn't doing so well lately -- someone else discussed this type of trip here and ticketed it a year or two ago. I think their trip involved starting (or ending) in JED or maybe RUH with DXB as the ending (starting) point.

I took a one-year RTW May 2002 - May 2003. Started in Toronto, Canada (for the cheaper fare) and ended in Columbus, Ohio. Different cities, different countries, but same region. Unless the rules have changed, you should be able to do that.
