AA RTW desk problems

I am in the process of purchasing three AONE3 ticket originating in Cairo. I have had the itineraries confirmed for several months and set up for ticket on departure. I received a phone call from AA RTW desk on Wednesday informing me that CX has cancelled all our segements and availability is no longer available. After speaking to CX, I discovered that CX sends a msg to AA informing them that CX requires a ticket number before "X" date otherwise they will cancel the ticket. If I cannot purchase these tickets prior to getting to Cairo, what can I do to ensure that CX does not cancel out our CX flights?

I will cross post this in the AA forum but want to make sure the oneworld experts see it.

If time (to end of trip) is not an issue, you could ask Cairo to issue the tickets now and hold them for you until you're ready to collect.

Come up with a ticket number. It does not need to be the actual ticket you will use. Any valid ticket number, preferably issued by an OW carrier (but best not to be CX), will hold the rez.

Tix are valid for one year from first flight, not date of sale so time is not an issue in this case.
