could anyone check this itinerary pls?
hi, i have worked out my itinerary on a 4-continent one world ticket, could you please have a look and see if it's ok? i am off in mid-september and will be away for 10-12 months if that helps. oh and i am not interested in earning miles, just want to see these places...
LHR-DEL
DEL-HKG
HKG-BKK
SIN-DPS
DPS-DRW
DRW-ASP
AYQ-CNS
MEL-CHC
AKL-SCL
SCL-PMC
PMQ-SCL
GYE-MAD
MAD-LHR
a couple of other questions:
1) does the PMQ-SCL flight count as one or two flights considering it stops in PMC but the flight number remains the same?
2) if given a choice, do you recommend i keep my ticket open dated (apart from the LHR-DEL) or not?
3) can you explain the terms AONE and DONE that are mentioned a lot on this forum?
thanks a lot!!

Your routing looks very straightforward. Probably the least contentious that has been posted here in a while! You say it will last "10 - 12 months". That's fine because the maximum validity of any oneworld Exporer ticket is 12 months from date of the first flight!!
1.If you ticket it a PMQ-SCL as a single flight it will count as one segment but you will not be able to stopover in PMC. To stopover you will need to have it ticketed as two separate segments.
2. My last ticket was a mixed of open dated and dated. I haven't had any problems changing dates or adding dates to undated segments. Your choice.
3. AONEX, DONEX, MONEX, are the fare basis.
A=First Class
D=Business Class
M=Economy Class
The X is the number of Continents. e.g a AONE6 is a 6 Continent ticket in First Class and a MONE3 is a 3 Continent in Economy Class.
Are you doing this trip in Business or First? If so you would be better starting in Gibralter as the prices there are much lower than ex-London.

thanks for the reply, glad i did my homework well
i am travelling in economy class, and i am leaving from london as the ticket is much cheaper than here in italy (about 600 euros difference partly due to the strong euro at the moment) and i can easily get a cheap flight from italy to london.
just wondering if there's any advantages or disadvantages in leaving tickets open dated, i remember reading some time ago about someone having trouble with a ticket when the airline cancelled a route. since there are rumours of the DPS-DRW leg being cancelled i'd like to make sure that BA doesn't leave me stranded in bali...though it would be a nice place to be left stranded!

Qantas operate the DPS-DRW flight, twice a week currently. You are correct in getting a confirmed reservation on that as if it is withdrawn QF will get you to DRW from DPS without you having to get reticketed at your own cost etc.
I think you can have two stopovers in continent of origin. I am not sure of your home in Italy but instead of going MAD-LHR why not go MAD-FCO-LHR or wherever is close for you that IB have flights to. You could then abandon the FCO-LHR sector and go home.

It looks like Iberia (Air Nostrum) flies from both Barcelona and Madrid to Turin. Are you not planning on visiting Easter Island? Might as well on this itin, you have plenty of remaining segments.
