Jakarta Hotel Suggestions?
I realize that this is completely off topic - but since I got no replies in the Asia forum, decided to try here.
As a part of my upcoming Oneworld itinerary, I'll have a very short stop in Jakarta. Will arrive on QF 077 from PER around noon and continue to Singapore the next morning on CX 714.
I have never been to Indonesia before, and was wondering if anybody could give some suggestions for this short visit? Also, what hotel would you suggest - looking for a decent 4-5 star that is affordable (USD 60-100)? I have found rates of around 85 for Pan Pacific/Crowne Plaza/JW Marriott and USD 100 for Mandarin Oriental.
My CX flight is at 0740 - how long does it take from central Jakarta to Soekarno Hatta?
Thanks in advance.

It was a couple of years ago now, but the Sheraton Bandara (airport) hotel worked well for me when I had to get that early morning flight. Nice hotel, very pleasant service (as a SPG Plat at the time), easy (free IIRC)transfer to the airport in the morning.

Thanks - looks like a good option!
Has anybody stayed at the Sheraton Media Hotel & Towers or the Millennium Sirih? Both look quite nice and can be had in the USD 40-50 range.
If it's not too hard to get to CGK in the morning - I'd probably prefer a city hotel.

Hi, in Jakarta I would recommend the "Dharmawangsa" Hotel. It is a 5*-property in every aspect! Rooms start around 280 USD / night in a Junior Executive Room. Look under the "special rates & packages", some of them are not bad!
It has 64 guest rooms (Rooms measure 66 square metres) and 34 suites.
It's interesting to know that there is no reception. You have your own concierge and everything will be handeld directly & privately in your room!

The Dharmawangsa is very glam, but can be difficult to get a good rate at.
The Sheraton Bandara is a good hotel, and convenient for the airport. It can take anywhere between 30mins and 1.5 hours to get into town from the airport so it might be a wise choice.
The Sheraton Media is not in a good part of town iirc. The Mandarin is a good option and very central, and there is a large mall (Plaza Indonesia) a short walk away. The Grand Hyatt is part of that mall so might be a good option too.
