Note: I have taken this from the other thread I have started - please, if you wish to give advice on the itinerary, do it in this thread so that I will not clog the forum discussing the same thing in two threads...thanks .

I realized that I cannot go through PVG-PEK, so I revised my itinerary:
CAI-BCN-xMAD-SJU-EIS-xSJU-PUJ-MIA-CCS-xBOG-LIM-SCL-IPC-PPT-AKL-SYD-BKK-xHEL-xCPH-LHR-CAI

33918 miles in Great Circle Mapper.

14 stopovers and only 2 in the region of origin (Europe/Middle East), should be within the limit. Do I violate any other restrictions?

From CCS, I will use a Caribbean Airpass as a sidetrip to explore the Caribbean islands - this is probably what caused the confusion about having a surface segment - all I will do is buy a separate airpass from CCS, returning to CCS and then I will move on from there to BOG on BA.

BA doesn't have pickup rights between ccs and bog, so you might not be able to.

Thanks for informing me of this...I think you are right...I tried and tried on Amadeus and it did not seem possible to book CCS-BOG (although it is listed in the Oneworld Electronic Timetable).

Oh well...I didn't really fancy the idea of going to BOG too much anyway - but I think I am pretty close to my "perfect" itinerary now :

CAI-BCN-xMAD-JFK-NAS-GCM-xMIA-SJU-xPUJ-LIM-SCL-IPC-PPT-AKL-SYD-xSIN-xFCO-BCN-CAI

I think it should be legal (12 out of 15 allowed stopovers), only 2 in region of origin, not more than 4 in a single region. Great Circle Mapper calculates 33996 miles, with the WebFlyer - Mileage Marker I get 33966 - so it is very close...

The one big question I have is whether I can have two stopovers in the same city (BCN)...I could not find anything in the rules at http://www.hardlink.com/~markdu/OWFi...lExplorer.html that would say that it is not allowed.

My plan is to somehow explore the Caribbean area more during this trip - either through a short cruise or by getting an airpass.

Do you see any other problems with this itinerary?

Thanks!

hello--new to forum so apologize if I don't have the lingo down. I did just return from a RTW trip w/ OWE and wanted to point out a potential issue. I tried to book the reverse route of Auckland to PPT to IPC to SCL and was told by the AA RTW desk this wasn't possible. I believe the issue was codesharing on the Auckland-PPT route. Then again I often found that if I heard something I didnt like I could just call back and talk to another agent with a completely different world view. I did make it to IPC from SCL and it is worth it even in coach, even on LC by far the weakest link in the OW chain.
