Another OWE for this autumn

Having speant a lot fo time in here and lurking and asking questions, talking to a helpful friend at a travel agent, I've put together a routing for my next OWE, and wondered if anyone in here can give me a clue if I've missed anything obvious:

OSL-LHR-DXB-LHR-YVR-(stop)-JFK-SXM-MIA-TPA-(sfc)-
MIA-LAX-JFK-HKG-DPS-(stop)-HKG-BKK-SYD-BNE-(stop)-
SYD-AKL-HKG-NRT-LHR-OSL.

As far as I see I've got three segments in Europe before leaving, six in NA (only LAX-JFK is technicallly a transcon by the rules), three segments in Asia, two in SWP, and then using the leftover Asian segment on HKG-NRT (less than 24 hrs stopover in HKG), and ditto for LHR-OSL (leftover segment in Europa, less than 24 hrs in LHR).

Can anyone find other faults in this? Apart from this I might stick two more segments in SQP if I can find something fun to do.

tia,
A

You have three transcons and you might have some trouble convincing someone that the tokyo trip is allowed, regardless if it actually is.

Im positive about the NRT-bit, I'm having it on a currently booked and legal OWE.

As for the transcons, I had a mental slip I see now. If I keep the Vancouver-Toronto bit and do a SFC-segment to JFK, then drop the MIA-TPA, and make my North American bit look thus:

LHR-YVR-(stop)-YYZ-MIA-SXM-(stop)-MIA-DFW-JFK-HKG

then it would all be legal? I'm trying to archieve a few things in NA:

a) get to fly CX trascon
b) have a few days looking at birds at SXM
c) get a try at the flagship suite of a 777 on the domestic leg in the US.
d) have a stopover in MCO/MIA/TPA in that order of preference
e) catch CX on to HKG. This could probably be done ex-LAX too, as the 346 will be there by next summer. or SFO.

I think you meant YVR-JFK not YYZ, as there are no OW YVR-YYZ flights and the CX transcon is YVR-JFK.

On the AKL-HKG-NRT-LHR segments, are you stopping <24 hours in NRT too(I note you are in HKG)? If you are, i.e. if you are attempting to comply with the transit Asia on the way to Europe from SWP rule, this will answer some questions on whether this multiple city route could actually be ticketed. What airline is issuing this routing on a OWE ticket?

As for YVR-JFK; yup, my bad again. I should stop posting at 2am :P

The multi-city exit from SWP to Europe does not allow for stopovers (>24 hrs), so the stop in AKL, HKG and NRT are all techincally transits. THe reason I looked into this is because paying what i pay for this in busniess class its a shame to sleep it all away, and the amounts of daytime flights from Asia to Europe with OW are limited:

a) two from NRT to LHR with BA, both too early to catch a connection from HKG same day, so one has to spend the night, but keep it under 24 hrs.
b) one with CX HKG-LHR, but on a A340
c) QF SYD-SIN-LHR, this is too straight and boring, and the 22-23 hrs haul gets to you even in C class.

So thats when it occured doing SYD/BNE-AKL-HKG-NRT-LHR all with daytime flights and spening night in a nice hotel bed somewhere and rather use a few days on traveling my way back home would be a comfy option, since its allowed within the rules.

I'm going through a travel agent and have SWP-NRT-LHR booked and confirmed, so this is indeed legal as long as you keep it under 24 hrs at each place. As for what airline is the ticketing airline I actually dont know, but Ill find our soon enough

With respect, having a confirmed reservation is completely different from having a ticket. A reservation in M/D/A is just that - it guarantees you a seat IFF you have a ticket in the appropriate fare class (or higher). Having the reservation says nothing per se about whether the itinerary is valid for ticketing as a OWE. I have had experiences in the past where the TA has asked an airline fare desk and they have said yes in principle and then when she has submiited the specific detailed routing for ticketing they have changed their mind.

But good luck! And please do let us know the outcome.
