At least I hope it is an interesting scenerio. Flying IAD-JFK on AA connecting to the CX flight to Hong Kong. The PNR for the IAD-JFK flight is 'linked' to my RTW itinerary which resumes in JFK. All OW airlines on an int'l itinerary as a OW saphire elite member allows me to use the OW lounges at IAD. I prefer to try the BA terraces lounge instead of the AA Admirals club. Will the BA staff tell me to use the AA lounge since I am departing on AA? What makes this interesting is the fact that my RTW paper ticket shows a different date from the actual reservation (AA says no re-issue is necessary now). Thanks...

You should be entitled to access to any OW lounge, at your own discretion (I've done a similar thing at DFW). Whether you'll meet with a resistance from BA lounge folks at IAD, I don't know, but if I were you, I'd insist on my rights.

BA will probably suggest you use the own Carrier's Lounge as they won't make announcements for other carrier's flights, and probably this will be all.

I've never had any problems with BA and AA Boarding pass from that airport.

According to the rules you can do what you propose - the RTW bit is irrelevant.

A related question: I was at SFO recently departing on CX. I was invited to the Sakura Lounge, which is JAL's, but which was staffed by CX (only). Frankly it was a bit sparten.

On the way to the gate I noticed to my surprise that the BA lounge was open because they have a similiar arrangement where Asiana uses it for their flights and staffs the lounge. All the BA flights go much earlier in the day.

For OW lounge access purposes is this still a BA lounge or is it temporarily redefined as an Asiana lounge? I would much prefer to use the BA one to the JAL one if I could (as a OW Emerald). Anyone any experience of trying to access the BA lounge when it is being used by Asiana?

Note that the BA lounge seems to only be open when the flights to/from London are departing. I've been there several times and it's always been closed. The AC there is tiny.

I haven't tried to get access when not flying BA, but that lounge is designated by BA as a Terraces lounge (one of about 30 worldwide, out of 300 lounges) and Terraces offers Oneworld access so by the rules you can indeed enter even if it is being operated for Asiana (it doesn't become a contracted lounge). I'll have to remember that for late-night SFO lounge-hopping. That is the best lounge at SFO (possible exception of Virgin).

Pick whichever lounge is most convenient to reach at LAX. There isn't enough difference between lounges to be worth going out of your way (they are all sub-standard at LAX). The DL CR is very nice (not crowded due to all the service cuts at LAX for DL) so if you are able to access that it may be the best lounge to use. Often I fly DL into LAX for an international connection just to be able to use that lounge instead of the Bradley lounges.

I agree that the Delta CR is nice. However, I'll be in the Tom Bradley terminal and was looking for a oneworld recommendation there.

I guess if I had to make a choice, the QF/BA is nicer, imo.
