Hi

Who are you your miles with ? Each OW airline has different requirements.

The BA handbook https://www.britishairways.com/execclub/handbook/ gives you the BA miles for a BA/QF mileage award from USA to Australia (which ever way RTW you decide to go.

If you're wanting to use QF miles you can calculate the amount needed @ https://www.qantas.com.au/fflyer/dyn...eemedSelection

Hope this helps

David

If you are using QF points, Oneworld awards are based on total mileage traveled. A RTW should fall in the 17,501-30,000 mileage category. That requires 130,000 QF points for economy, 240,000 for business and 300,000 for first. You are limited to 5 stopovers.

Thanks for the info. I will be using Qantas miles for this ticket. I need to go to HYD in india from Milwaukee, US. Looking at Qantas website thought that I need 110,000 miles to fly BA. But if I can take 4 extra stopovers, sure I am happy to spend 20K more.

Can someone tell me if this is a valid itin.

AFAIK, no oneworld airlines service HYD or MAA, so the routing bom-hyd-maa-sin is not possible. Also, (at least according to AA), you wouldn't be able to do the mke-mco-mke or mke-sfo-mke; as you can only connect in a city twice, and cannot stopover in your departure city.

You might be able to do (X is stopover):

mke-ord-lhr-bom(X)
bom-bkk-sin-hkg-lax-dfw-msn(X)
msn-stl-mco(X)-dfw-msn(X)
ord-sfo(X)-stl-mke

kinda ugly!

BA flies two nonstop roundtrips weekly between LHR and MAA. I can find nothing on Oneworld that goes to HYD.

Even better, I hope- the upper limit for Oneworld awards through QF is 35,000 miles according to rule 10.4.2 on the web site, and both the T&C and the award chart in the booklet (the 30,000-mile is listed on the award chart on the "new" web site).

As, I've posted elsewhere, the QF RTW is a great deal relative to award travel to Australia from JFK or LHR (among other cities), IMHO.

Reason being- JFK or LHR to Australia in F is 275,000 points plus 10,000 points for stopovers. The RTW for 35,000 miles of travel is 300,000 points with 5 stopovers included, as you note.
