OWE Itinary question
Hello everybody,
I am quite new on this forum but I would like to ask some questions:
I am planning to make a RTW trip this fall (more backpacking style...) and I was interested by the Oneworld Explorer offer.
I have been studying the rules found on fewmiles and came up with the following itinary (ex NCE) (OWE 5 continents)
1 NCE - LHR X
2 X LHR - SYD O
3 O SYD - AKL O
4 O AKL - CHC O Void
5 O CHC - MEL O
6 O MEL - ASP O Void
7 O ASP - CNS O
8 O CNS - DRW O Void
9 O DRW - DPS O
10 O DPS - SIN O
11 O SIN - HKG O
12 O HKG - NRT O
13 O NRT - KIX O Void
14 O KIX - HKG O
15 O HKG - LAX X
16 X LAX - LIM O
17 O LIM - SCL X
18 X SCL - IPC O
19 O IPC - SCL O
20 O SCL - PUQ O
21 O PUQ - SCL X
22 X SCL - DFW O
23 O DFW - ANC O
24 O ANC - YYZ O
25 O YYZ - YUL O Void
26 O YUL - JFK O
27 O JFK - MIA O
28 O MIA - ATL O
29 O ATL - LGW X
30 X LGW - DUB O
31 O DUB - HEL O
32 O HEL - NCE
Is it a valid itinary (I know I will have to buy some extra segments...).
It will probably be only an ecomomy class OWE. Are there any known problems about seat availability on 1W flights for a MONEW* fare ?
Thank you

Welcome to FlyerTalk, Vibo. It looks like you have planned a great trip. Assuming "Void" means a surface segment (or one not flown on the OWE ticket), there remain few potential problems.
DRW-DPS: I do not see any direct flights between these two cities. There are cnx via SYD or SIN.
DFW-ANC: This flight does not operate after 3 Sep. There is a STL-ANC flight that operates until the end of October.
ANC-YYZ: This CX flight only operates until the end of October. Also, I am not sure that CX can board YYZ pax at ANC.
ATL-LGW: This is a BA flight so I assume you will be putting the miles into BA, not AA.
HEL-NCE: Looks like the only way to do this is via a cnx at LHR or somewhere else. Unfortunately, you cannot buy extra segments to make this cnx as Europe is your continent of origin.

Thank you for this quick answer !
Void effectively means a surface segment.
For the flights I was working with the Oneworld electronic timetable:
for drw-dps: it shows a QF131
for the flights to and from ANC, I plan to be there next Summer (june in fact), is there a chance that this DFW-ANC flight will be resumed (they simply do not fly to ANC during winter) or they really may drop this route?
One problem might be that the electronic timetable I use does not show the segments where they cannot board pax.
for the hel-nce: I saw one AY flight that operates once a week, but it operates only until October....
So I will have to rework a little bit the itinary there.
I think I will put my miles into BA, but I am still wondering about these "discount fares" that only get 50% miles and no status points. I'm quite sure that the OWE fare in economy will be one of these.
Thanks again

1. if u r flying BA tras-atlantic, your choice of FFP is bwtween BA and QF
2. if you do not insist on ATL-LGW, u could use AADV, which is great (and get 100% bonus mile through plat challenge)...but no miles on CX M class unless u find a canadian address
3. please bear in mind that u need to take a bus LGW-LHR when going to DXB.
4. finally. aa.com and cx.com both have oneworld flgith schedules for oyu to download. if you find your flight by entering your desired dates there, you are fine. do not have to worry.
our FT friends here just wanted to remind you that you only have the summer to get to ANC.
enjoy your planning!
