Breaking the "one-transcontinental flight" rule on oneworld explorer
Is it possible to break the "one-transcontinental" flight rule when using the oneworld explorer fare using the following method?
Example:
The routing is YVR-JFK-xDFW-SFO....
Since YVR-JFK is a transcontinental flight, JFK-SFO has to be booked has JFK-xDFW-SFO.
Will volunteering to take for "an earlier flight that is JFK-SFO" or having the ticket agent at check-in to offer to put me onto "the non-stop flight" have any affect on causing my ticket to be "invalid"?
If I buy a First Class AONEW3 fare that entitles me to travel in "first class on a three-class aircraft", will there be a high chance the agent will put me into "business class" on the "3-class transcontinental" flight when offering to put me on the "non-stop" flight, as the original JFK-DFW and DFW-SFO flights are booked in the "highest class of service" operated by two-class aircraft?
If such "offer to put me onto a direct flight" does happen, what can I tell the agent and convince him/her to put me in "first class on a three class aircraft"?

A ticket agent can do whatever they want by doing an on-the-spot reroute. If you are booked in A class on a two class, it is because the tariffs code allows it. When you switch to a two class, the tariffs code would only allow it to be in D. In reality, though, it would be at the discretion of the agent.
