Help with AA reroute

This is not a RTW question but I need help. I have tix in November to go to BKK. I will complete the AA PLT challenge on this trip. I was flying AA and BR trough TPE Now that AA is no longer flying to TPE from SJC they have to reroute me through NRT.

AA has me going:
SJC-NRT on AA
NRT-BKK on JL
BKK-NRT on UA
NRT-SJC on AA

That is some wacky routing and only the first and last segments are on AA. I dont like the fact they put me on UA and the JL flight is not a code share.

Is there a way I can get AA to put me on their flights, OW airlines, or code share? I really dont care who I fly as long as it completes the challenge. The tickets are in discount coach. Do you think I can get AA to rebook me on CX out of SFO through HKG on a fare that will receive mileage?

I dont really know what I am asking here but if anyone can help it would be appreciated. I am sorry to clutter up your OW forum with this question.

I posted here because I heard you guys are a really friendly, helpful group.

Here is my suggestion:
NRT-BKK, you might want to try CX via HKG.

CX also flies to TPE via HKG.

From HKG, you can go to SFO or LAX and get a connection to SJC.

if i remember , cx gives 0 mi for discounted coach. qantas gives .7. i would ask for aa to london, ba to bkk & return the same route. who knows , good things sometime happen. how many mi's do you need? ..... edit to add...jal has code share or you can get aa mi. br is not a partner[i think]. you lose about 2700 q mi w/ the new routing. & get [ i think] mi on jal. do they count for the challenge? ... edit to add... why not put this under mileage run? you will probably get more info..... oop's br is listed as a code share. sorry

ChanelCinq - it sounds like you had boked a special M class fare on AA.

Unfortunately without paying any extra, you have to stick with what AA rebooked you on. By going through HKG on CX from NRT, you will incur additional costs as the fare basis changes with the extra connection even if you are not stopping.

Unfortunately there really isn't much you can do about it as AA has done their bit by rerouting you to the final destination.

Oh please ! Don't take the suggestion by rerouting through to London. You would end up with quadruple of what your original fare is as transatlantic fares are always much higher than transpacific ones.

And FYI, you can't switch to CX out of SFO as the fare basis changes again - CX and AA do not codeshare and therefore it's really getting a different ticket.

FYI,all of CX's fare out of the US are in H class anyway and you will get miles for H class on AAdvantage.

But I think I may be able to help you here - Chanel Cinq - please email me your exact itinerary, fare basis, when the ticket was bought, and fare paid before taxes.
