Does anyone know if this is possible:

Can I use oneworld miles on the Concord?
I want to use UAL miles to get to CLE from SFO, then use AA miles to go fron CLE thru JFK to CDG. If I can fly the concord, then stopping in LHR is no problem.

The main reason is it appears that a oneworld pass would cost less than any other way. I need to spend 4 days in CLE, and optionally spend a couple days w/ my wife in NY en route to Paris for her B-day. We have adequate miles in both UA and AA accounts, but want to use them wisely.

Best bet is to check with AAdvantage desk. I would think so but I could be wrong.

AAdvantage miles cannot be used on BA transatlantic services. Check the entry for British Airways in the AAdvantage Participants section of aa.com

A long shot, I know -- but have you tried using your AA miles to obtain a CP award on the BA flight?

Regards,

Ken Hamer

I know about AA/BA limitation, but since I'm talking about using AA for oneworld travel (say I use the 40001+ total trip miles) I then *have* to fly at least 3 carriers -- right? And under oneworld, it doesn't look like the same BA restrictions apply. Am I reading this right?

The same restriction applies to oneWorld awards. (See the wording for oneWorld in the AAdvantage Participants section of aa.com).

Ken -- I have tried in the past to get a CP award using AA miles but the request was refused.

EMERALD

THE WHOLE ONEWORLD
http://members.home.net/deercroft/oneworld.htm

For those who want the word processor version of the Oneworld comparison chart, click on the Oneworld.doc link (Word 97-59K) at the page the link below takes you to and your word processor should open and then you can use your "Save As" to save it to one of your directories. Alternately you can right click on the link and it should ask you where you want to save the file to.

Both the Star and Oneworld charts continue to be accessed on a regular basis by numerous people (just checked my web site stats). Just thought that all the chart preparers and others who provided input would like to know that their work continues to provide useful info on an almost daily basis.

Just bringing forward for new kids on the block.

Thanks Celestar for bringing this forward in the next post! It is still being accessed--as is the Star Alliance chart.

Mijne has made some modifications which I have posted to the oneworld series as

THE WHOLE ONEWORLD
http://members.home.net/deercroft/oneworldall99.html

For those who want the word processor version of mijne's updated Oneworld comparison chart, click on the Oneworldall99.doc link (Word 97-62K) at the page the link below takes you to and your word processor should open and then you can use your "Save As" to save it to one of your directories. Alternately you can right click on the link and it should ask you where you want to save the file to.

Perhaps tedhl and the oneworld chart crew might want to vet this new addition and, if desired, produce the ruby, sapphire and emerald versions.

Just bringing it forward since the 100K bonus frenzy seems to have pushed this one way back!

Those 100K bonuses are sure to inspire some stories for "the craziest thing I ever did to earn miles"!

Couple of notes on QF

Blue/Ruby no longer receive club invites. Nor do Silver as they receive complementary entry.

domestic upgrades are only confirmable outside of the 24 hour period if you are on full Y. Otherwise irrespective of status you have to wait until 24 hours prior to request your upgrade.

Blue/Ruby members do not receive priority baggage handling.

Hope that helps,

Mark
