Oneworld Europe pass

BA just announced details of a new oneworld Europe pass.

a great idea, but not clear if a version will be available for european residents to use - doubt it will to be honest

looks like competition for europebyair.com. and possibly cheaper at that.

did you see that the qualiflyer group just joined europebyair? i guess the unified europe will have three airline groups (1w, *a, & europe by air). hmmm, sounds just like what's gonna happen in the us if the big boys get their way.

These things don't appear to be available in conjunction with oneworld trans-Atlantic award tix.

From the Application section of the rules:

OW VISIT EUROPE PASS IS VALID IN CONJUNCTION WITH PAID INTERCONTINENTAL AIR TRAVEL

(I'm not shouting. The original that I copied and pasted from was in all caps.)

It would seem that award tickets don't meet that criterion.

There has been a lot of discussion on the oneworld pass elsewhere on these boards. Somebody copied in the rules, which explicitly said that you could fly over to Europe on a free ticket (and probably on any airline).
