LanChile 100K Bonus
I am a procrastinator. I am just getting around to crediting my flights to LanChile for the 100K bonus this summer. How I am already done with my Christmas shopping I don't know.
Three days ago, I faxed in 6 boarding passes to LanChile from a OneWorld RTW. It was a First Class ticket so there shouldn't be any problems right? Wrong.
Was told via email today that only full-fare tickets credit toward LanChile. First, Biz or coach. At least they were quick to respond. I assumed the First and Biz segs would go through without a hitch. Any experiences with this?
My response to a follow up from the agent that emailed me stated she had double checked this info with the Mileage center in Chile.
Oh well.....more time to be spent on getting mileage credit.

this is not true. all my credits on lanchile were from a biz rtw ticket. they posted my flights and i have received the 4 continent bonus. however, i did put in my number as i took the flights, although an ib flight i had taken earlier had also been posted. write a letter and try again.

Just got an email a few minutes ago that said:
Mr. Moss M class is used for discount tkts, I understand that your fare
basis is Y06, but you are not paying full fare of Y06, so you can not earn
kms for any tkt with discount. Normally, all fares are allow to acumulate,
when I say all fares I mean, full fares, any tkt that has any discount and
are M (enonomy) D (business) and A (first class) does not earn kms.
Of course, tks awards which are on T, U or Z class, can not, also, acumulate
kms.
Thks"
Oh well. I will have to find someone else to deal with. But I will say that she does reply back to emails very quickly.

Cm7,
She replies back so quickly, because she is not bothering to check the facts.
On a seperate note has anyone in the last couple months noticed any improvement in LA flights automatically posting to AA or BA FF programs?

I once had a similar experience...but it's crediting a deeply discounted business class (I) flight on AY to my BA-USA account...I took the flight for the purpose of the 5-airline-100k-bonus promotion...
It turns out...class I on AY does earn miles with AA's, AY's, CX's programs (and most other programs too I think), but just not BA (at least not the USA one)...I had a few email exchanges with a very nice agent who eventually still did not bend the rule to give me miles for that segment (~1,000 or so miles including class-of-service)...but did honor that sector as one of the 5 airlines and gave me the extra 50,000 bonus miles...and I eventually credited that segment to my CX account as well...I would say I was extremely lucky...
after this I did learn that I still need to be very careful with this subclass game even when traveling in business and first...
ChrisMoss7, since you are doing all 6 boarding passes at the same time after flying, in the very worst case you can still fax all these to another program and get the 100k, right...sounds better than my case...

Update: One of the emails from LanPass appologized for two phone agents giving me incorrect information. She then stated that if I would have told the agent I had a discounted ticket, then she would have given me the correct info. So I called the LanPass number again, mentioned that I had a discounted ticket(not-that I received a discount) and gave the fare basis. The agent said all segs would qualify.
I then called the big boys in Chile to double check the rules but got disconnected two times in a row after I pressed the prompt for English. Afterwards I called the UK and Francesca asked me to fax it to her and she would manually input the flights. I asked her about the specific inventory and she said all flights were acceptable.
Apparently everyone but the supervisor in MIA that I originally faxed my BPs to thinks that the flights should qualify.
Tedhl: Yes, I could fax them to AE but I would much rather them be in my LA account. AE awards are a little less "valuable" in my book compared to LA. Actually, the awards in LA are pretty much the same as AA. The 160,000 km bonus gets me a First class trans-atlantic AA flight which is equivalent to 100,000 miles on AA. Other awards are also very comparable.
As for other carriers, I have segs for AA and BA for the bonus and LA was my next choice followed by AE. I actually had enough segs for 5 carriers but chose to go for only 3 bonuses because 1)I wanted to qualify for EXP on AA 2) I found certain carriers awards to not be very useful with the number of bonus miles awarded and or 3) I was not 100% certain I would qualify for the bonus on certain carriers.
The rules, emails and other information I gathered off this board and from airline sites and responses indicate that I would not qualify for the bonus on CX, QF, AY and IB. The intra-continental seg not qualifyingfor the bonus knocked out AY, CX and IB while QF, CX and IB needed a stop-over of 24 hours. I didn't want to take any chances.
If anybody has any documentation that proves the above paragraph incorrect, I may be needing it in a few days if I can't get this settled.
