The best lounge at LAX?

Which is the best 1W lounge at LAX? I recently passed through LAX and had the opportunity to stay at Admirals Club lounge and also at JAL lounge. Perhaps some fellow FT-s who frequent LAX more often can shed some light on the quality of lounges there.

I've been to the BA/QF/CX lounges before. I think there are a total of 4 BA/QF/CX lounges??? The first class lounge is pretty nice. They served sushi and other food items.

The lounges in the International terminal are pretty generic. Yes the BA 1st lounge is OK, but nothing to write home about. The United 1st lounge is probably the best at LAX. The NW WorldClub is probably the best non-1st lounge.

Is it really possible that at LAX international terminal there are no decent 1W lounges? I mean something with bathrooms and internet access? Is one allowed to use Admiral's Club when travelling internationally outbound (out of US)?

On another note, can staff actually stop a pax from choosing his own lounge? On my recent trip I was bluntly told that I MAY NOT go anywhere else but JAL lounge. The reason given was peak time and a lot of travellers. Has anyone else experienced this?

You can't use the AA lounge unless you are on an AA flight. The Admiral lounge is in the terminal next door so you'd have to go outside anyway. But the Bradley terminal is old and doesn't have any decent lounges. I hear there is a nice VIP lounge for celebrities, but I doubt it has showers and internet access.

If Staff told me I couldn't use another lounge I suppose I would ignore them. They do want to herd as many people as possible to the gate in time though. So I understand their motivation. But you can use whatever lounge you have member access to.

IMHO, no good OneWorld lounges in Bradley.
