Making changes to AONE4 ex eygpt ... should i be concerned ?

I will be starting an AONE4 ex CAI next week issued on BA ticket stock via the online booking tool and a phone call to BA in UK when there was the currency devalutaion
Did the bare minimum of flightst get a valid routing as I wanted it ticketed asap for obvious reasons .
After my initial flight next week from CAI to LHR I intend to make significant changes involving a reissue for the 125USD plus any differences in taxes and surcharges etc

Should I be concerned in the light of the OW freezing of tickets ex Eygpt ....
I assumed that the rules that were current at the time of purchase and issuance would apply retroactively .

And if there are no fares currently published ex CAI on BA what does that mean if I tried to make the changes now ie NOT change the first flight CAI-LHR but add some stops after that etc
Would they just charge the reissue fee or is it simply not possible ?

Does anyone have experience of this yet ?

Many thanks and happy holidays and safe flying

my theory is that airlines can do anything they like. i personally would not touch the ticket until first segment is flown. but the fare rule says clearly that it is okay to change date except for first flight (i believe) but airlines prefer to reissue tickets whenever the PNR is changed to keep eticket in sync with PNR or PNR will be cancelled. since airlines will reissue, they will look at the current fare for repricing if it is unflown. as some have experienced, supervisors may override and have this reissued. but my personal take is that why raise the profile of your tickets? if some superviosr says the price is too cheap and refuse to reissue. and your PNR is dropped (old eticket is no in sync with PNR) are you preparing to take them to court?

The rules for your ticket are those that were in effect at the time of purchase. That a fare is no longer being offered for sale , has no impact upon fares already purchased

After you take the 1st flight, you should be able to make the changes that you want

If you wish to make changes ( other than simple date/time changes to flights other than 1st ) , before commencement then you are out of luck for pricing using the ATW fare

Has anyone contacted the AA RTW desk regarding date changes to flights after the 1st scheduled flight? I want to change the 2nd and 3rd flight dates only, but have not flown the 1st segment. I'm concerned that AA may try to change the fare. I know the rules allow it, but who knows how AA will respond given the EGP currency issues. Flights are in March 2017.

Why "no city in Egypt"

What happened with ex-CAI ticketing??? I was looking at the OW online planner last night, & it said, "Your itinerary cannot start from any city in Egypt." What happened?

This:= http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/onewo...w-tickets.html So airlines are not not selling xONEx from Egypt, due to the currency exchange rate

Reissuing the ticket is orthogonal to repricing. It's quite common to reissue the ticket for all sorts of reasons and does not mean the ticket is repriced. They are two separate things.
