Well, Finnair lifetime status is based on number of tier points earned not number of miles flown. So if you spent extraordinary amounts of money on Finnair marketed Finnair metal flights then you would accrue based on what you paid.

On that note I should say that BA is also in the running here, given that they do tier points based on spend as well, with lifetime status based in tier not distance.

I would consider AA to effectively have "lifetime" status via spend.. You just need to charge enough on the credit card each year.
JL 6 star is JMB diamond.

There is no AA diamond.
Better off asking the AA forum if you have questions about their status.

To qualify for AAdvantage Platinum Pro (oneworld Emerald) based solely on annual credit card spend, a U.S.-based member has essentially three options:
  1. Spend $105,000 (annually) on the Citi / AAdvantage Executive World Elite Mastercard (annual fee $595)
  2. Spend $110,000 (annually) on the AAdvantage Aviator World Elite Silver Mastercard (annual fee $199. Not open to new applicants; I'm unclear whether you can still product change)
  3. Spend $125,000 (annually) on any other U.S.-based cards (annual fee starting at $0 for the American Airlines AAdvantage MileUp Card)

The above represent consumer-focused cards and not business cards.
