Air Berlin and One World lounge access

I recently earned Sapphire status on Air Berlin. However, I am trying to get status on AA since I live in the US.

I have been denied access to lounges in the UK and Vietnam because my frequent flyer numer in boarding pass is for AA and not Air Berlin even though I showed my Air Berlin Sapphire card with an expiration of 2017. Did not seem to be an issue in the US. I looked at the rules and it doesn't appear that I should be denied access. Help!

Yes I have experienced similar. Some lounges insist that the FF number used to access the lounge is on the boarding pass, perhaps to allow the applicable airline to be charged.

If so, just have it changed to your AB number to access the lounge, then have it changed back to AA at the gate.
