LON-SGN late August

Hello,

Originally posted a similar question on the BA board, before changing destination, so with apologies to the kind BA board folk...!

I've got c.50k AA miles and potentially access to c.40k BAEC miles. I'm planning on flying LON-SGN around 28th August, back around September 12th. What I'd like to do is:

- Use the AA miles for a partner redemption (want to get rid of them as it's costing me to maintain)
- Fly biz class on partner airline (best available deals and my budget is strictly limited)
- Credit to BAEC w/Tier points

I'm open to flying ex-EU within reason (i.e. not adding a whole 24 hours each way on to my flight time).

However, arranging this seems to be proving very complicated for a newbie like me!

Is what I'm asking even possible, and what's the easiest way of doing it?

Thanks in advance

Just to be clear, you're looking to pay for an economy or premium economy ticket then use the miles to upgrade that to business class?

Not sure why you created a new thread. The advice in your old thread is still applicable:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/briti...e-lon-bkk.html

You need 52,500 AA miles for a Europe-Asia business class award one-way.
You have nowhere near enough BA avios for a one way business class award.

So, an outright redemption is not possible if you want to fly business return.

An ex-EU fare is probably best, perhaps using avios for the shorthaul to connect.

QR from OSL/AMS/BRU currently looks cheapest at around 1,300. I would suggest trying ITA Matrix.
