Japan Transocean Air

I would like to get an AAdvantage or BA Avios mileage ticket from OKA to MMY on Japan Transocean Air, a oneworld affiliate of JAL officially recongized as such on the AA website. AA told me that this is only possible when the NU flight has a JL codeshare. Does anyone have any experience with this? Is NU a oneworld airline or not? For example, would it earn AA status miles, or would a oneworld emerald member get an extra baggage allowance? Is there any work-around to get an AAdvantage ticket issued?

NU are listed as a JL and OW affiliate airline on aa.com
oneworld Affiliate Airlines
JAL Express
J-Air
Japan Transocean Air
and:
Travel on Japan Airlines and affiliate airlines counts toward qualifying for AAdvantage elite status membership.
I would HUACA.

Are you running into the problem that certain Japan domestic flights can only be booked within 60 days of the flight unless they are a domestic addon to a longhaul flight:
From ba.com:
Redemptions on Japanese domestic flights may only be booked two months from the date of return flight and only in the economy cabin. This restriction does not apply to domestic flights booked in conjunction with international flights.

Thank you for your reply. I already have all of that publicly available information, but the fact of the matter still is that an AAdvantage representative told me in no uncertain terms that no direct oneworld connection existed with NU, only with certain NU flights codeshared as JL. It didn't sound right to me and I just wondering if anyone had any practical experience.

Try giving them the JL flight number and make sure you are calling within the 60 day window. Don't give them the route. If it does not work, HUACA.

I am getting the same BS and this is INFURIATING. I book JTA flights all the time with BA, but AA cannot get its act together.
