New Oneworld RTW Booking Engine?

So sorry if this has been already posted, but logged on today (finalising my RTW) and seems the engine has been vastly modernised. Hopefully it's less buggy than the old one!

They must have done this in the last few days.
It's a nice start page, but I can't get it to go past that at the moment. :/

Working well for me. (I'm on Safari, Mac OS X).

I got in with a different browser. It's .... different. Not quite as intuitive as the old version.

Just tried to price a saved trip - one which got ticketed a couple of months ago and it said "We have encountered an unknown error. Please contact customer service to book this itinerary."

Put in a new test itinerary (with an AA coded NRT-BOS to start). It priced and went through to the AA booking page (which appears to have had a refresh as well), but I didn't go past that.

Yes, definitely new, and it works quite rapidly. A couple of things I noticed on a quick look:

1) On the pricing page, there is a button to download your itinerary as pdf, complete with tax/fee breakdown.

2) There is also a link to a useful amadeus page which shows baggage details for all airlines:
https://bags.amadeus.com/
It's not specific to your itinerary but it's a tool I haven't seen before and could be quite useful.

Happy Travels.

I did an ex-AMM dummy booking and took it all the way to the credit card screen, which is farther than I've been able to get previously, due to the well-known RJ - AA interface bug.

I'm going to make this thread "sticky" temporarily while the updated tool is put through its paces by FT members. Please report your experiences here so others can benefit.

I could always get to the credit card screen with no problem. The problem arose after you entered your cc details, and for that reason, it's not possible to do a test to see if the problem has been resolved, unless you really do plan to book and confirm the itinerary.
Of course, the whole thing is moot now since the ex-AMM prices went through the roof. Or reverted to reality, depending on your point of view!

Happy Travels.

Can't get past the plan and book page. "start new itinerary" button not working.
Firefox, windows seven.

I tried to price one itinerary I've had sitting in the system for awhile but it failed multiple times.

On another DONE3, the price has gone up USD350 in two weeks.

I had a DONE4 go up ~$500 in fees. I'm sure it has to do with AA and their collecting of YQ/YR on all carriers now.

EDIT: Yes, it is YQ/YR related as I can cut it by using different carriers (e.g. CX instead of MH).

You can still access the old booking engine by going straight to rtw.oneworld.com It still prices but don't know about booking.

Not any more.

This new tool is pathetic. It applies rules on the itinerary (1st) page that can only be addressed after you add the flights. For example if you want to do a second transit through LON to finish an ex JNB ticket in NBO you can't. The 'only one transit through continent' rule kicks in and prevents you from progressing to the pages where you add the flights. The error even states that you must change your routing or flights. Oh really, how can I change the flights if I can't get to the flights page?

Well thought out this tool of a tool

I've been playing with the new tool on and off over the last few weeks
and one thing I specifically tried was the transit through London - and it worked

My itinerary started from Europe/Middle East and the final segments were ...HKG-xLHR-NBO,JNB-oLHR-MCT. It priced up fine

I just now plugged in a simple ex-SA itinerary (CPT-oLHR-GIG-SCL-SYD-xLHR-NBO) and it also priced up fine. Didn't give any error messages at all.

What is the itinerary you're trying to get to work?

Edited to add:
Just tried an Eastbound itinerary (CPT-oLHR-SYD-LAX-xLHR-NBO)
The tool gave me a warning message about the second entry to Europe
but I just ignored it and proceeded to the Choose Flights page
on that page it was telling me to delete the second London stop and re-route, which again I ignored and once I selected flights such that the LAX-LHR-NBO resulting in <24hrs in London, the error message went away

SO - the tool allows you to book the itinerary, but the "error" messages appear too early - before you've chosen flights that result in there being no error. Perhaps they should be "warning" messages
Actually - playing some, they are warnings - yellow triangles with an exclamation mark; rule violations are red triangles

I get a red triangle whenever I add a second Lon routing in before I get the chance to add flights. This prevents me from then selecting the flights. If I leave the Lon out of the routing it lets me go to the flights page but doesn't return the flights I need in the multi sector results. Bring back the old tool that work please OW.

Moomba Sep 23, 2013 5:45 am

I just figured out the quirks of this. I was modifying an existing save itinerary and the red triangle stopped me from moving forward when selecting what would be a transit in LON.
When I entered the entire itinerary from scratch it showed a yellow triangle on the second LON and allowed me to proceed to select the flights.

So it seems if you already have some flights in the itin it then makes the warning an error. So it is still wrong but there is a work around.

I also notice if you have an existing booking with a start date within the next 7 days it errors on that first sector and again you can't change the flight.

You need to remove the first sector and add it back in order to proceed to the flight selection page.

I really don't know what was wrong with the way it worked before where you could select flight and routing on the same page.
