MSC rule question
Hi everybody,
Looking to take advantage of the MSC and JAL's very generous baggage allowances.
If i book for example:
HND-SIN JL C
SIN-PER QF Y
On one ticket, by the MSC rule, I should get JAL C allowance (3 x 32kg) through to Perth? First sub-area crossed is Japan to Singapore.
FUK-NRT JL Y
NRT-HKG JL C
HKG-PER CX C
One one ticket, by MSC rule, I should also get JAL C allowance? First sub-area once again is Japan to Hong Kong.. even through first flight is FUK-NRT domestic.
Are these two examples right? As long as they are all on one ticket and checked through, it should be okay, right?
As an aside, does HND and NRT through check baggage? I think NRT has separate domestic and international terminals...
Thanks in advance!

Yes MSC is correct in both cases. You are traveling within IATA Tariff Area 3, so the first carrier crossing the sub-area is your MSC.
For domestic to international transfer at HND and NRT, baggages will be checked through. But it won't be check through if you are doing a transit between HND and NRT.

If you're flying through the same airport, eg: ITM-HND-SFO or FUK-NRT-LHR, bags will be checked through.
NRT (at least the JAL terminal) has a number of gates (63-67 IIRC) which can change between domestic and international by opening and closing certain doors.
