KA J connecting to AA F, F lounge at the departure airport?

Departing HKG on KA J connecting to AA F in same day on two separate tickets. Will I have F lounge access at HKG? No OW status here.
Thanks!

Initially I said: Yes of course.
But others seemed to disagree.

Your lounge access entitlement is based on the class of travel you are departing the airport in. Travelling in business class entitled business lounge access in HKG and 1st class lounge access at the airport from which your AA flight departs

It is possible that CX will allow access to the 1st cass lounge, but not an entitlement

In my experience most airlines give you access to their F lounge if you either arrive in F and connect in C on the same airline. But usually no access when you either arrive on a different airline in F or have F downstream on a different airline. I would not get your hopes up too high.

You also didn't indicate if you're an AAdvantage elite member. If you are EXP and departing on any OneWorld flight in any cabin, you will have F lounge access at HKG.

Yes he did. See above, no OW status, therefore no oneworld emerald lounge access.

You're only allowed lounge access based on your long-haul COS when the connecting flight is domestic or intra-European

http://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access/

Presumably since they are least likely to have J or 3-class F. So regional KA J flight would get the normal lounge access rules.

And for OP's record any FLT departing from HKG is considered "international."
