New possible Codeshare
AFAIK, QF ends codesharing with BA and partners with EK. But, it is possible for CX and BA to codeshare for HKG-MEL/BNE/PER/CNS/ADL (Except SYD, as BA has its own fleet stopping SIN) routes (Operated by CX)?

Not all BA-coded flights operated by QF will go. Codeshares within an alliance are a normal thing, and this will , in principle, not be affected by the EK partnership. But the number of codeshares will be reduced because the QF/BA partnership was pretty deep and codeshares will be realigned to match what is now a "normal" partnership within an alliance. (At least this is all we can say for the moment.)

By April, you could get a AU-UK flight with the same routing as today with QF codes without even flying on a QF aircraft. (EK metal MEL-SIN, BA metal SIN-LHR)

This has been discussed extensively.
QF management have told reporters: QF will not leave oneworld. The dicision to codeshare with EK is a strategic choice but does not evolve with alliance move.
Also I would like to ask you whether you have been paid 50p to post this comment (I personally found the PR machine in the evil team are working on this to make media influence on both AB and QF in order to destroy confident of public on oneworld)?

Oneworld is still the best fit for QANTAS the other 2 alliances are closely tied to Virgin Australia
Besides QANTAS has a healthy relationship with almost all Oneworld airlines but Cathay(Qatar can be added along with cathay once they join)
If AA-US merge and TAM joins oneworld, Oneworld basically will have dominance over the net American market
QANTAS staying in Oneworld just makes sense
The only airlines that gives benefit to oneworld and gains very little is Cathay- no idea why they are even in an alliance.

HKG <--> China
There is much better/often CX service Oz<-->HKG than QF.
CX does cooperate with QF a little bit.
exHKG there are joint fares HKG-SIN-PER.
I do notice they are NOT sold exPER.

I too have speculated QF is positioning itself to leave OW and go it alone like EK and AS have successfully done ( ie stay alliance free ). I feel alliances are a "me too" thing and might self implode when the heavy weights can see no value for themselves in it.

When you consider the size of the US market, it's obvious the codeshare with AA would be the biggest one. That goes with the other oneworld carries too that have a sizeable codeshare relation with AA; BA, QF, AY, LA, JL, etc.
I don't see RJ cooperating with other ow carriers besides AA or S7 for that matter.

but i think BA should do codeshare on CX flights too, in addition to QF flights for higher frequency:
QF29/30: 1 daily
QF67/68: 3 weekly
QF97/98: 4 weekly
while CX's same route has a lot higher frequency than QF:
HKG-MEL: 3 daily
HKG-PER: 10 weekly
HKG-BNE: 11 weekly
QF29/30: 1 daily

QF97/98: 4 weekly
