One World airline awards.
I am being told by LAN CS that OW airlines are only releasing awards three months in advance for LANPASS members. Is this policy common throughout OW or is it only for LAN? In the past I have reserved CX awards ten months out, but now LAN says that this is impossible.

There is no such requirement from any alliance to enforce member airlines to open reward seats. As I said there is no universal rule on when to have award seats open and how many. You are asking too much.

I don’t think I was clear. According to LAN ALL OW partners now only open awards for LAN with a three month window. I’m not talking about the fact that CX limits its F awards according to dates and according to OW partner FF programs. But the probability that all the OW airlines have this same three month policy with LAN seems strange. I have posted about this strange situation in the hope that if some other forum member’s OW FF program has a similar constraint when it comes to ALL OW partner awards they might mention it.

Suspect its more a LAN restriction.
eg. QF releases seats 365 days out but AA releases seats 330 out and only lets its own FF members see forward 330 days, thus very hard for AA members to get seats on the QF transpac as most are already gone in the 35 days.
