Bangkok Lounge Access
Flying JFK-HEL-BKK on AY (Finnair) in July. Three of us, I'm AA EXP (OW Emerald), and a AA Plat (OW Sapphire). We arrive about 0800 (flying Y) and depart on a non-OW carrier about 1200. I believe we'll have to clear immigration and head to the ticketing area (Bangkok Airways) to get our onward BPs.
Upon re-entry after security will we be granted access to any of the OW lounges to have a shower and clean up since we've just arrived on a OW flight? Any lounge more strict than another CX, JL, or BA/QF?
Thanks

Generally not - Arrivals access is not a oneworld privelege.
Assume you may by flying Bangkok Airways domestically (most likely to USM Koh Samui?) If so, from memory the domestic are of BKK airport is separate so I dont believe you could access the oneworld lounges even if you were able to gain access.
Bangkok Airways has its own lounge at BKK (accessible to all pax I believe) but dont think it has showers.
When I went through a few years ago there was also a Domestic Transfer path that was separate to the main immigration path.

Kinda the answer I was expecting, but thanks. I looked up BKK on the oneworld website and see that virtually all OW airlines use different lounges. CX, JL, and BA/QF have their own, but then RJ, AY, & S7 all use contract lounges--very strange! (although if I were leaving from BKK I could do some serious lounge hopping!)
We're headed to Siem Reap (REP) so it's international, barely. Any idea which gates those Bangkok Airways flights use?

Hi, I have been following your posts, and first off, I am very impressed, it is all going to be a challenge but you appear up to it and best of luck. As a backup, feel free to PM me, if I am in REP, the town is small and at no time would I be 10minutes away from you. The gate for the departures is opposite the Thai airways lounges, so couldn't be more central, there is an escalator and lift to the lower floor where there will be a bus to take you to the plane, so not too much cabin baggage as you then have the stairs up to the plane. I was told once what the plane was, it is a small jet, narrow aisle. The arrivals have a bad habit of parking away from the International terminal in REp, maybe the plane's departure is from the domestic area, you will have a walk once you are down the stairs onto the tarmac, but there on in it is straight foward. There is a Bangkok airways lounge in Bangkok around the corner from Thai's but it has no shower. You will be well cared for in Cambodia, they are beautiful people
