Extending a DONE4 validity - any chance?

This is probably a hopeless case but asking anyway. We started a DONE4 back in January but after completing the first leg fell sick so had to return home (on a separate ticket). We haven't been able to use the rest of the ticket and the earliest possible time to complete the next segment will be a few days after 12 months since we took the first flight. Do I have any hope of extending the ticket validity to cover the rest of the trip (about 1 month)?

No hope.

Why not just get a refund?

It's a good question and the answer is, the money is already spent as far as the accounting department is concerned. Getting a refund and spending it again is a more difficult discussion.

You also asked the same question, word-for-word, in another forum, here, where I answered your question. Cross-posting is contrary to FT rules.

Yeah I posted this in the wrong thread originally. Should have been here. I am sure one of the powers-that-be can delete the other thread.

So no was the answer to extending it. Can anyone point me to the cancellation rules for a DONE4? BA is telling me the way they calculate it is pricing a one way flight to LA and refunding whatever is left over (which cannot be much if anything). I want to check that information.

BA is correct. Cancellations and Refunds, rule 16.(b).3:

For partially used transportation the refund if any will be the difference between the fare paid and the fare for the transportation used less the fee specified in (1) above.
