Using OW Sapphire to access lounge when BAEC on booking

Hi,

I have OW Sapphire through Cathy Pacific but when I book BA Flights I use my BAEC which is at Bronze.

Since Bronze will not allow me lounge access can I show my Cathy Pacific Card with the OW Sapphire level and be granted access to the BA Business Lounges?

Thanks

Welcome to FlyerTalk xray3248c,

You should be able to change the frequent flyer account on your BA flights through Manage My Booking on the Finnair website. This will ensure your Sapphire status is in the booking and should provide you with advance seat selection and lounge access.

Hope this helps.

As long as you have the CX membership card to present to the lounge agent to show your status, then will be fine

Given that Sapphire status enables access to pre-seat selection for free , unless on a full fare ticket ( where it is free anyway ) , you may find it worth calling BA and changing the number in the booking to enable the benefits of sapphire and just get agent in lounge to switch to the BA number when at the lounge

Thanks for the information.

The reason for the BAEC been on the booking is that I want that account to get the Miles\Teir Points to allow me to build up status there, as I move away from CX.

So if I can just show the card then that should be fine, I am not too worried the other sapphire benifits except for the lounge access.

Pity you don't see the full benefits of having a CX Gold card ... much better than BAEC !

A change in job roles, means I will no longer be flying CX, therefore the move to BAEC.

Word of caution. Because my employer is fairly strict with anything relating to travel, including FF miles, I have two AY+ accounts. One, OW Emerald, gets everything related to work travel. The other gets everything else. Bummer, huh? Anyway, year ago I flew HEL-LHR-MIA for vacation, so the flights credited to my personal account. In LHR I went to the Terraces Lounge, and showed my work card, which obviously had different FF number from the BP. No biggie, done that before many times in different locations. Only this time the lounge dragon changed the reservation to reflect my work account! I noticed this in the US, and changed the remaining legs back, but LHR-MIA went to the "wrong" account. I have no idea if this is the usual policy, but something to keep in mind... The tickets were issued by BA.
