Am contemplating starting an AONE4 ex NZ and looking for some advice on maximizing miles ... and time in F of course!
Have to visit LHR and BDA and ORD other than that am flexible
As a start here's

WLG-MEL-LHR-MCT-LHR-DFW-YVR-JFK-BDA-MIA-ORD-JFK-HKG-BOM-HKG-MEL-WLG

I could start from AKL if needs be
Am not sure about BOM as would have to stay overnight in order to do both in and out on CXF and therefore have to get visa - I'm not an NZ citizen so can't do visa on arrival.
I believe there are few F options in Asia - maybe CX F to HND would be easier that BOM ?

When are you planning - CX chops and changes F between Winter and Summer, actually whenever they like.
Is there a reason for YVR - as you are downgrading First to Business for those segments.
DFW-ANC is the big flights in the US depending on time of year
For more mileage LHR-LAX and JFK-HKG

The online tool doesn't seem to show anything WLG-MEL from what I see. But there are QF flights on that route operated by Jetconnect. I think you can only book the Jetstar flights with QF numbers, I don't think the Jetconnect flights are allowed. You'll know better than I do, and there definitely are flights to SYD so worst case you can go with that, at the cost of a couple hundred miles. At any rate, you can start and end anywhere in New Zealand though, so using your required stops I would go WLG-SYD or MEL-LHR-MCT-LHR-DFW-YVR-JFK-BDA-MIA-ORD-HKG-BOM-HKG-HND-HKG-AKL. The online tool doesn't show many good F flights though, it doesn't show HKG-BOM as having F on CX? I would skip the ORD-JFK-HKG flight and just go ORD-HKG direct, that and returning to AKL instead of WLG (if you're able to do that of course) free up two segments. Maybe you could put a DFW-ANC-DFW trip in there to gain some miles, though not as much with F on that.

Figured it out. I think it wasn't available the dates I was searching. The tool still shows it as requiring a connection, but the direct flight on Jetconnect is available when you go to search for flights. I had thought the Jetconnect flights were allowed, just wondering why they didn't show up. Very strange, thanks for the clarification Wasabi!

The Jetconnect flights you refer to only operate as QF or BA codeshare if connecting with BA in OZ and are all bookable etc and Jetstar flights only bookable as QF codeshare when in conjunction with a connecting flight operated by OW I believe.
There are good F flights on all of the longest legs - ie MEL-LHR-MCT-LHR-DFW and then YVR-JFK - on CX - then JFK or ORD as you say - to HKG-BOM-HKG-MEL - so it's a huge part of the trip is in F - only really the trans-Tasman and there's no avoiding that if you live in NZ and the internal US flights
There will be CX F to BOM the months I"ll be travelling - one of the 2 daily flights is being shifted to a 747 with F but you're not able to do a turn-around on it and I would have to stay over and get visa etc - hence my wondering if there were alternatives.
No service to ANC the months i'm travelling - ie Jan/Feb otherwise it would be plotted into the itinerary!

Indeed, I would rather take the extra 9 hours or so in F HKG-HND-HKG than the wonderful "first" class on AA ORD-JFK and the non-F with the return through MEL. The flight ORD-HKG is only 300 miles shorter than JFK-HKG. More miles and more time in a real F is good to me. I assume you're trying to max the time you spend in CX F, as it seems to be the best F experience in OW. Good luck!
