Gibraltar, the roach motel of the Oneworld alliance?
I've been planning a AONE4 for later this year, and I was thinking it would be nice to stop by Gibraltar. The on-line Oneworld booking tool let's me get there, but no matter what I try, it won't let me leave. Kind of like a roach motel (the roaches check in, but they never check out). WTH? If I say I'll do a surface segment to Malaga, everything is fine. Is there something special about Gibraltar when on RTW fares?

Yep, but the Oneworld RTW booking tool won't let that flight be booked. It is the darndest thing, and I've never had any trouble like this before (I've booked about half a dozen RTW's with the Oneworld tool, and probably played around with about 30 others). The strange thing is that the booking tool will let me select the flight into GIB.

I'm just wondering whether it's that you're transiting back and forth via LHR a number of times in the same itinerary, and the OW Tool is balking at that? Not that this is definitely it - I'm just trying to think of reasons as to why I'm able to book it, but you're not.

For example:
- you have maxed out the number of Euorpean flights.
- your AONE4 starts at LHR so you can't fly LHR-XXX-LHR (point of origin rule)

Where are you trying to fly from GIB to (via LHR)? Short haul or long haul?
There are issues with BA.com at present (and some other booking sites), where it is refusing to allow some shorthaul connection consturcts despite the textual ticket rules saying they are perfectly combinable.
[E.g. GIB-LHR-ZHR would fail, but GIB-LHR-YYR, etc would be fine! Still investigating the error myself...]
Masses - I don't think they had really started in 2008, certainly not compared with where it is now.
Should certainly be open this year, NOT pre-summer as was hoped, hopefully during, possibly post.
[However the road under the end of the runway is a year away from being open (at best!)]

I have entered numerous combinations into the planner and have been unable to replicate horseguy's problem unless I am violating some other rule. I tend to agree with Downunderflyer that this is probably a rule problem unrelated to GIB. For example, I get a warning (and cannot book the flight)when I attempt to leave GIB if I start the rtw in LHR (as I am returning to my origin).

I can put in cities in the order NYC > GIB > HKG etc, and if finds the necessary sectors with connections in LHR, etc. I didn't need to do it flight by flight.
However, it also is quite happy with short haul connections, so it is equally not the problem I originally wondered if it was.
