Award Availability on CX for 4 J tickets?

I was able to find award availability for two before flying YVR-HKG-KUL....

but is it impossible or not even possible to find award tickets for 4 people on a CX flight YVR-HKG-KUL? Anyone have experience in this?

For J travel, this will be difficult for such a large group but certainly not impossible. Maybe consider 2 in Y and 2 in J?

Using which airline's points?

You should be asking this question in the forum of that airline.

I suspect that you know the answer already.

Well..reason I asked here, is I am open to any routing available that will allow 4 business class ticket awards........JL, CX, seem to be the only option for me flying out of the west coast U.S. using AA miles...

I'm not sure if this helps, but I was able to book two F awards and two J awards on the same LAX-HKG flight using AA miles recently.

same can be the case out of YYZ where i have been able to book 5 J and could have been up to 8....however, OP is out of YVR and it has tight tight space in J.

If you are using AAdvantage Points I'm sorry to report that CX seems to have introduced some form of inventory control on AAwards unless they are either booked far in advance or close to departure.

I have been trying for weeks to change a CX Flight that is showing many days of availability on the CX Award site..but AA shows nothing

wow...did you do this using AA miles or CX miles? I need to be able to book something like this using AA miles, because that's what we are stuck with....

I've been experiencing the same with AAdvantage points. My trip is in April to SE Asia and there are really nothing available as far as CX flights. Everything customer service tells me is for JAL.

CX availability varies a lot over time, but it can be quite good. For instance, with the BA online tool I can see 5 J seats on lots of days for the SFO/LAX-HKG routes about 300 days out. Based on things I'm reading in the AA forum, it sounds like AA miles might not get you access to that kind of availability.
