Eh? #4 & #5 refer to AMM-HKG. Post #14 refers to AMM-CMB (direct), thereby potentially saving you an Asia segment that you could use for more miles earlier in the trip.

oops. I should stop doing 50 things at once.
The AMM-CMB is TWF, my Euro-Asia is Sun/Mon. I'd have to drop my planned HEL stopover.

Sorry should have paid more attention to the dates puts a small spanner in the works I guess. I would probably say the biggest stumbling block in maximizing status credits is using CDG as the entry point instead of sadly LHR, as BA has the best coverage for Europe/Middle East.

I thought of this however due to BA/AY using terminal three you would have to go T3 to T5 unfortunately so by avoiding staying the night in London.

9th DFW-CDG August 140 sc
12th CDG-HEL 60 SC
14th HEL-LHR-DXB 160 SC
15TH DXB-LHR-HKG 260 SC
16TH HKG-CMB 100 SC

So I think this gets you 580 instead of the 500 you had I think and gets you to where you want to go and apart from the initial terminal transfer from T3 to T5 the rest would all be terminal 5 if you choose BA for the LHR-HKG.

Hope this covers your dates.

I was actually looking at DXB options last night when I noticed it was in the next zone for SCs from CDG/MAD/GVA.

The last time I had a terminal change connection at LHR was in September 2008, shortly after T5 opened. Connected from BA52 to IB3177 (T5-T3), and BA551 to QF32 (T5-T4) a week later. Has anything changed since then?
If I’m going to fly LHR-HKG, I’m going to want to get QF30. Combined with the return positioning flights, that will get me my 4th ~ and confirm the Gold Retain or Platinum Earn for my Aug10-Jul11 year.

I put this into the planner:
CMB-SIN CX0710 17JUL
SIN-NRT JL0710 17JUL
NRT-HKG JL0731 25JUL
HKG-JFK CX0830 27JUL
--QFF SC Rollover--
JFK-DFW AA0855 02AUG
DFW-MCO AA1434 05AUG
MCO-DFW AA1589 08AUG
DFW-SEA AA2033 08AUG
SEA-JFK AA0268 09AUG
JFK-CDG AA0044 09AUG
CDG-HEL AY0872 12AUG
HEL-LHR AY0831 14AUG
LHR-DXB BA0107 14AUG
DXB-LHR BA0106 15AUG
LHR-HKG QF0030 15AUG
HKG-CMB CX0711 16AUG

43,664 miles
440SC before rollover (earning gold), 1270SC after (+75 for planned return position flight) Leaves me 55 short of earning platinum, but I could get that with a CBR-MEL-AKL-MEL-CBR later in the year.

Only thing is, this routing added quite a lot to the taxes...

Got a price for the positioning flights. Total trip works out at ~ AU$10,710 (for 23 sectors), a saving of about $2,000 from the same trip as a DONE4 out of Australia.

Works out at about $5.80 per status credit. 55909 mi + cabin/status bonuses.

I can save about $100 if I use SQ for the SIN-CMB-SIN sectors of the positioning, but then Id lose two sectors of SC/miles.

Think its worth it? After I add in accommodation, it would cost me about 23% of my savings.
