Connecting at CDG

I will be arriving in CDG-2E off an AF/J flight and am due to connect 6 hours later from the same terminal on a JL/C flight. Does anyone know if I could access the CX lounge in terminal 2A without going through too many hoops other than a transfer bus?

More important, is the CX/F lounge in 2A much better than the AF/J lounge in 2E (JL seems to contract with AF for lounge usage)?

You will only be able to use the OW lounges in 2A (CX and AA) if you have a flight leaving from 2A; there are no airside transfers to/from 2A.

imagineertobe is correct. In my experience, there is no way to change terminals without leaving security and no way to enter security without a departing BP for that terminal. Also, the CX lounge in 2A is really nothing special and has limited hours; I can't imagine it is any better than an AF lounge in AF's premier hub airport.

It is true that you cannot access terminal 2A without a boarding pass for a flight leaving from 2A. In addition, the opening hours of the CX lounge are limited to the time of their flights (I haven't been able to use it yet on my BA flights to LHR ). Finally, the AF lounges in the main 2E pier or in satellite S3 are quite adequate.

Use of AF's F-lounge for JL Emerald pax?

OK, I'll abandon thoughts of terminal hopping in CDG, especially if the pickings are to be meagre.

However, would any of you know whether a JL/C pax (CDG-NRT) who is a OW Emerald, can use the AF/F lounge in Terminal 2E? Do the AF lounge dragons know (or care) about OW Emeralds?

Also, is the AF/F lounge that much better than the AF/C lounge?

JL has many code share flights with AF

JAL doesn't have its own lounge in CDG, It uses AF lounges.
So, that is not operated by OW carrier. OW status does not permit lounge use.

BTW, JAL has many codeshare flights with AF,
NRTCDG, and flights between CDG and several European cities including MUC, DUS, BCN, CPH, ARN, IST, WAW etc.

The AF La Premiere lounge is in a completely different league than the C/J lounge. The entire experience is top notch, including the fact that you do not go through passport control, rather your passport is given to your attendant and brought back to you in the lounge by an ununiformed police official.

Unfortunately, I don't think JL passengers get to use it yet, as there is a small, cordoned off section of the AF C/J lounge dedicated to JL First Class passengers.
