RTW and Hawaii

I searched the forum and really didn't see an answer, if I missed it just let me know.

I live in Hawaii and wish to book a RTW starting in Hawaii and ending in Hawaii. I would fly in the eastward direction and fly from Japan to end my trip. I plan on booking business class.

When I try to book the flight from HNL to anywhere in North America on the on-line booking tool it says no flights available. However, when I search on AA.com I get flights.

Suggestions?

I want to leave Honolulu 24 Dec and my main stops will be Paris and Bahrain.

If I have to I can get a cheep flight to LAX or DFW and start from there.

Mahalo,

Cinnywoo

Just call the AA RTW desk at 1-800-247-3247 and they can set you up. Phone Monday if you're interested in the current 10% savings. It ends Mon. night.

Your problem is finding an eligible flight from HNL to the USA on Dec 24th.

All AA flights to DFW, SFO and LAX are A0 on that day so you can't book a A/DONEx and travel in the front cabin. L7's abound so you could downgrade.

There is availability to travel via Tokyo but I'm not sure if that helps.

"A" is also upgrade inventory on AA. The seat maps for the 24th (HNL-LAX, HNL-SFO, HNL-DFW, OGG-LAX etc.) are wide open in F, so I'd be surprised if the AA RTW desk couldn't get RM to release one to the OP. LAX-HNL, well, that would be another story...

Agree. Often flights will always show A0 but waitlists clear pretty quickly. Calling AA will indeed be the way to go.

Thank you everyone for the great advice. I called the number and the agent was able to get me on the flight I wanted. I am waitlisted for first, but I feel good that I will get the upgrade.
