When we are all mailed new DL elite cards at the end of October after the merge. The end of October was referenced either on the forums or online, I can't remember, as the date for this.

The elite package you receive from DL will have all of the new contact numbers.

SMI... Thanks for your post and hope you can clarify some of the questions asked ...

In relation to the topic you addressed below, how does this affect using the correct account number to earn miles with partners, post integration? For example, my WP number is how I get my HHonors points from Hilton... will I have to manually update my HHonors account with my new SkyMiles number? If so, it would be good to get an e-mail saying "We noticed you receive miles from XXX, YYY, ZZZ, etc. and suggest that you update your SM Number with these or any mileage earning partners"

Just a suggestion... hope you can clarify how updating our account numbers with partners will need to be done. As you can guess, FT'ers have lots of partner accounts tied to our WorldPerks account numbers.

Yes, Delta, Northwest and partner systems will replace your WorldPerks number with your SkyMiles number, and you receive Elite benefits and earn miles, as appropriate.

Companion free baggage check gone?

One thing I have not seen addressed is the baggage fee for people flying on the same reservation as an elite. Currently, there is no bag fee but in reading the SM rules it doesn't seem that this is true. Does anyone have any insight to this?

Of course, since they have eliminated the real Platinum companion upgrade, I'll probably have to have our reservations separated anyway so that we get at least one bump!

Uh, Richard Anderson used the phrase "best of both."

SMI - thanks for the post but it's sad to see some benefits go away. I clearly hope you bring them back and would love for you to consider the "best of both" or "best in class" benefits NWA had that is going away for the future (i.e. Perkchoice, NWA companion UG policy, NWA PE UG gaurantee). [I've already given up on getting more than 2 free changes for PE sadly...]

The only one I can think of is allowing free stops on domestic award tickets.

SkymilesInsider, your silence on this one is worrisome. What's the plan? How do I upgrade my international trips after 10/1?

I have heard that PU503's, NW PMU's are being transferred to your new SM acct and will be recreated with new DL cert nbrs. So, if DL uses paper certs?? Then they will be mailed to you...In fact, all the data from your Wperks acct has already been transferred and can be viewed by a DL agent, If they know where to look..Just as I can view all your DL info by looking at your Wperks acct.....

I copied & saved both an electronic and a hard copy of the nwa.com screen, listing all the PMU numbers......just in case the info doesn't transfer correctly.

"Best-in-class" doesn't usually mean adopting the less robust of the 2 software platforms, does it??

What is the "click path" to that listing. I have electronic and hard copies of my milage summaries, but the PMU info would be a good thing to keep too.

Uh, yeah. And lots of other things too. But I really really really don't think DL got it. OR, they just lied.

The "click path".......Reservations, Manage My Reservations, then View My Electronic Credit Vouchers.
