CO Plat baggage question

I am a CO Plat flying NW in April (we will still be part of Sky Team then) with my family. I have gotten conflicting stories regarding baggage fees.

Is it true that ONLY NW/DL elites get the fees waived? Does SkyTeam status not provide any help in this area? The NWA website is very unclear.

Thanks for any help you can provide!

(Sorry to see the old NWA go...I really liked the Red Tail!)
