In the good ol days prior to the merger, we had access to the old America West Lounge but when the abomination that we have come to call the current US Airways came to pass, we lost it (sigh). Anyway, CO is supposed to be opening one a little later this year. Of course if things play out like I reckon they might with the merger and the end of the NW-CO partnership, then we won't be enjoying this too long either Here is the discussion over on the CO board. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/showt...ight=countdown

Safe travels Y'all

For one, leasing fees at LAS are quite expensive which prohibits many carriers from operating a lounge, coupled with what is normally a low-fare/leisure market, the majors (less USAirways) have elected not to open/operate FF clubs.

CO is planning, and has been for some time, a club in the D concourse above what is now the UA gates but I have yet to hear a definate opening date. If the lease hasn't been signed yet, it wouldn't surprise me if that is deferred with the current environment in the industry.

It's too expensive to compete with those who would pay to put slot machines wherever the lounge would otherwise go.

Unless they put slot machines IN the lounge.....
