BUMP program and int'l flights

I've searched through the archives and seen pretty good success with domestic flights. I have a DL fully refundable tkt TPA-AMS. Does anyone know if NW would accept the DL tkt and put me on NW metal??

It seems that you can do it on international flights. I never have but may try later this month on a MSP-YYZ. Limited discussion here: http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/Forum35/HTML/004545.html

Not sure if the ticket needs to be endorsed over by the issuing carrier because it is an international flight. I would guess that US flag carriers do not need an endorsment.

International tickets issued by a US flag carrier do not require an endorsement. If the fare is unrestricted (fully refundable) it is basically like cash in your hand you could use toward the purchase of the NW ticket. If the NW fare is higher, your ticket may be accepted on day-of-departure with no additional collection as space is available under the BUMP program.
