Again, thanks for the update!

As far as codeshares, (i.e., flying a NW flight number on DL metal) do you know if we will get our regular bonuses, and full elite qualifying miles regardless of fare class?

So far, this looks most useful for flyers on both sides to reach regional-served destinations not otherwise served (for example, flying NW to DFW and then taking Delta Connection to Wichita Falls, Texas).

So, when will this "benefit" finally be available?

Delta members can access WC on day of departure when flying on NW operated flights.

Elite Benefits
Priority Check-in and pre-boarding only, no upgrades or select seats

No stinking upgrades?

I think the "no upgrades" news is much preferable to NW and CO converting to a DL style upgrade system...I don't know how they could offer upgrades without aligning the three airlines' programs in this area.

This does not help flying NW out of DFW. If these rules apply still no access to a lounge in the E terminal. I was hoping this agreement would solve that.

Yeah, I thought so too. I was hoping that maybe DL would improve their rules... but I guess less competition for EUA is better. I will only be flying Dl when absolutely necessary anyway, though I must say that I was on a flight last weekend, and it was quite pleasant.

On another note, does anyone know anything about possible SkyTeam implications? Will NW be joining? Will that mean that KL and Alitalia will be in the same room again? How will they deal with each other? Maybe they won't speak, but remain civil for everyone's sake?

I didn't think about it until now, but I'm pretty excited about the improved burning opportunities -- namely Santiago w/o the COPA connection, and full Business Class service to a host of European markets that either require an AMS connection or a magic wand to find a seat on CO.

Also, I wonder if redemption requirements will be equalized (for better or worse) -- e.g. - North America to Deep South America is 70K on NW/CO in Business, 75K on DL).

Perhaps you could book DL Codeshares on NW metal, depending on final destination. Then you'd have DL flight numbers, gaining access to the CRC. Don't know what the downside would be since the rules are firmed up and officially published.

I wasn't expecting EUA or anything similar, but not being able to even "buy" an upgrade with miles in advance is a disappointment. I'll keep Delta as a travel option, but don't intend on using it very often.

What about redeeming Skymiles on NW flights?

In Mid May we fly CLE-VCE via NWA & KLM. Is CO the only miles we will get as a partner, or can I get DL SM????

We return from Barcelona thru Frankfurt to ORD to CLE via Lufthansa & UAL. Does DL SM get those also?
