Routing

Need help.

How do I change routing to accomplish a mileage run on an upcoming business trip. Supposedly, I am starting out of Winnipeg, and want to use the connection point such as SFO/LAX/EWR to get to Detroit. I am confused on how it works out.

Thanks in advance

For NWA, do the reservation with the multi-city option at this
page.

LAX is going to be tough. My suggestion is to try either ATL or MEM.

Of course, you could always read the routing rules:
ROUTING 90 FROM YWG-NW-MSP-NW-CWA-NW-MKE/LSE/DAY-NW-
TO GRB-NW-RHI-NW-DTT*
OR TO MSN-NW-GRR-NW-DTT*
OR TO CHI-NW-DTT*

so, i could just use the multi-city option, and the fare will not escalate drastically because of this.... sorry for the dumb questions.... i always earned my miles the hard way, and want to start capitalizing on these runs i see everyone talking about on this board. a wealth of knowledge is here. i have 80+ segments, and might not make gold again in 2003.

Just for the heck of it, I looked at using the nwa.com multi city option in Jan 2003. Using a routing YWG/LAX via MSP, LAX/DTW then DTW/YWG via MSP I saw a fare of $542.71,
I used Jan 10 to 15 so there would be a Saturday night stay.

This means you go to LAX, wait a few hours, red eye to DTW, a few days in DTW, DTW back to YWG via MSP. You can play around with this function using your required dates to see what works best.

Generally If I want to rack up miles I go from ORD/MSP/LAX on Saturday afternoon, have a nice dinner at Encounters located in the LAX theme building, take the red eye around 1:30 am LAX/MSP then MSP/ORD Sunday am. With a 14 day advance purchase, and this qualifies for a Saturday night stay even though its only a few hours, the fares have been around $200.00.

Good Luck!
