WP Questions

I'm considering giving NW most of my business next year and have a few questions that I should know the answer to, but don't.

1. I am holding a "Z" ticket to Asia in January. Do I get a 50% bonus credited towards ELITE STATUS for 2004 if I credit the flight to my WP account?

2. Can someone provide a contact, fax# or address, whichever is best, to send a Comp request to? (It will NOT be from CO).

Thanks
Ed

Hi Ed:

I expect for #2 it would (still) be:
Beth Shultis
Vice President of Marketing
Northwest Airlines, Inc.
2700 Lone Oak Parkway
Eagan, MN 55121-1534

The WP Gold Elite members guide says: "You will also earn an additional 50% Mileage Bonus that counts towards Elite status when you purchase a ticket in First or World Business Class". I am not sure whether it is only for Elite members, that this count towards Elite status though. ( and others simply get 50% bonus miles). I hope not.
NW elites may be able to see this at:
http://webx25.nwa.com/cgi-bin/cgi_el...e=bonus.shtml.
Others may have to refer to a paper edition.

I was just comped 2 weeks ago from DL silver to NW silver. It was handled by faxing request & most recent DL statement to:
Patricia A. Broten, Manager Reservations Services, 218-254-7567
Or mail to:
NWA Status Match
601 Oak St.
Chisholm, MN 55719-1995

Recieved answer by mail about two and a half weeks after faxing, hope this helps!. Now my goal is to make gold on one airline next year instead of silver on two. Thanks NW

Edited to add that this is mailing/fax info provided directly by NW when I e-mailed them how to request comp. Also status showed on-line even before I recieved welcome letter.

Thanks for the replies. I will try to get the status match as well. With Mileage mania, 50% bonuses, and if I can get comped to NW Gold, this flight would be arount 60K miles and 30K status miles. For $1,800, this is a pretty good deal for status miles. I could do 6 $300 transcons for the same 30K status miles, but that would mess up 6 weekends. It appears that spending $1,800 (big money for me) really is cost effective in this situation.

Incidnetally, both terenz and I will be passing thru NRT on Jan 2 (After a Jan 1 departure) and will be in the Akebono lounge around 4:30PM if anyone else is doing an eary 2003 mileage run.
