First bump!
Was walking past the gate on Friday for my DTW-BUF flight, when the GA announced an over sell. Turned 90 degrees and there I was, first in line ('cuz I knew there was a later flight).
So -- $300 voucher, food voucher, and confirmed first class seat on the next flight.
I have to confess, I book my flights so that there's always another flight, just in case the opportunity arises. It seems to be happening a lot lately, so with any luck I could build up a tidy stash.

I like to take the most likely to be oversold flight(s), so, whenever possible, I plan to be able to take the overnight bump. I've also been early enough to take a bump and get an earlier flight through a different hub, although they have to be really sure they're oversold to do that.

Congrats! $300 in vouchers is no chump change in the long run, so getting a voucher is always a good feeling.

I'm running soooo low on vouchers too.
The only coupons/vouchers I've picked up in the past couple of dozen flights was 2 of those real cheapie coupons that give you 500miles/an alcoholic beverage/or ...... mmmmm alcoholic beverage
I could sure go for a $300 coupon about now.
mmmmm alcoholic beverage

Congratulations. In the last twelve months I have done really well on American and Delta in collecting bump vouchers. Nothing for me on Northwest since about a year ago.

Congrats BigLar!!
Way to be on your toes to get that bump. ^
I've run across the waiting area at least once to get a bump. I was the 2nd one there and they only needed two people. Yes, I'll make a "fool" of myself for $300.

Kudos for the bump! ^
I had a quasi-bump last week. Flying CDG-OTP on an award ticket. My SO and I had done OLCI and in the airport went to drop off our bag. I asked and the TA said the flight was oversold by 15, and this was a 319! I volunteered us, the lady sent us to another counter where they thanked us for volunteering, gave us each a 150 euro voucher and said they would not take our bag because they didn't know if they could put it on that flight until after the check-in had closed. They were going to put us on a RO flight that left 50 minutes later, but asked us to come back to them first when check-in was closing. So we did and it turns out they did not need our seats after all, and we even got our original seats but we still have the vouchers!

Congrats on being bumped.
Similar here - I have gotten 5 x $400 vouchers with DL in the past four months but nothing with NW. The DL vouchers have been coming in very handy - to get to MCO for the TZ fare to OGG and to get to LAX for the CI fare to PNH, among other things.

Seems I had another opportunity this morning.
The DTW-IND was oversold, so I inquired about a bump. Unfortunately, they said the soonest they could get me there was about 8:30 tonight. I don't mind being a couple hours late for work, but that's ridiculous.
So, I just sort of shook my head and boarded the flight at the regular time.
A few minutes ago, I got a flight status email from NW, telling me the flight was leaving on time, and I could expect to arrive in IND about 8:30. I was booked (in First) -- didn't they notice I had already left? After all, they scanned my BP and nothing beeped.
Well, it's a little bit funny, but now I wonder what's going to happen with my account?
