I have to confess, I book my flights so that there's always another flight, just in case the opportunity arises. It seems to be happening a lot lately, so with any luck I could build up a tidy stash.
Congrats on your first bump, they can be a great thing when you can take them. Bumps actually financed my first SE (25,400+ EQM for about $150 of my money).
I like to take the most likely to be oversold flight(s), so, whenever possible, I plan to be able to take the overnight bump. I've also been early enough to take a bump and get an earlier flight through a different hub, although they have to be really sure they're oversold to do that.
