Besides, nwa.com sucks when it comes to finding partner flights (AF, KL,...). This tool is MUCH better.
Are you sure you're talking about the Flash Interactive Route Map? It sounds like you're talking about the timetable pdfs.

peace,

Ah, I was talking about the World Timetable application that you can download and install on your PC. I got confused, sorry.

Oh, and the flash thing sucks.

The (flash) map also shows a PNS-GRR route (Like that's going to happen any time soon ). It is very misleading as far as actual NW routes go.

The map seems good for showing cities served but that's it.

My Mac is running it fine with Firefox.

Yup, DTW-TPE/PVG/PEK are all shown as single flight lines.

I love interactive route maps like this, but this one is pretty far from being useful.

At least it beats the on-line maps that only show cities served.

I am looking forward to printing the .pdf file, making it into a pamphlet, and carrying it around like I did the schedules they used to give out at the counters (this was back when you still went to the counter to check in) and on planes.

For those not familiar with the old printed schedules, they were long, narrow booklets that looked identical to the .pdf format. I am guessing this was constructed by an over-40-er who was also tired of always having to learn a new system.

Forward into the past!

New interactive route map on NWA.COM

Anybody noticed the new interactive route map on NWA.COM? It shows all routes from hubs as well as from remote destinations. One gripe is that it won't show the correct tPac routes with schedule changes after 2JUN.

It seems to be the same thing, as far as I can tell.

Only problem I've found with the ST Downloadable Timetable is that schedule changes (especially aircraft changes between mainline and RJs) pretty far out don't get updated except on the monthly update. It is a great tool, especially while on the road, since it doesn't need an internet connection.

There are two versions of the ST route map Flash version and non-Flash version. AFAIK, they've all been around for a while now.

I was sad to see those go, they only showed nonstop and "direct" flights, but it was easy to put alternate routings together for IROPS. You could always find them at the ticket counters and gates, and sometimes on the aircraft. When I was traveling a lot I used to have the pocket OAG with me, that was like the NW one but for all the airlines. They both saved me a lot of aggravation when a flight was delayed on canceled.
