NWA Interactive Route Map

New feature on their website. Kind of cool. Probably limited use.
Check Northwest/KLM Electronic Timetables

Kinda fun to play around with, a little easier if you want to explore flight options versus the timetable.

Seems like a good idea - but I couldn't get it to work!

A note further down the page says the program only works on Windows PC (not Macs). Could that be your problem?

Horrible

This is HORRIBLE. I tried seeing what the connections would be for everywhere from Madrid and Berlin to Delhi and Mumbai or Seoul and it always comes back "connections not available". It can't even find the city "Berlin" or "Madrid" (or the airport codes) in the program. How did this make it to the website let alone out of beta testing??? This is a really crappy or half-done piece of software. I can't imagine how it is useful to anyone like this other than for seeing where NW has non-stop flights from and to.

I'd much rather just have a huge pdf of the entire network with all connections and partners like Continental has.

peace,
~Ben~

Very inconsistent as far as codeshares go.

slippahs Jun 5, 2007 11:43 am

Tells me there is a non-stop between HNL-BOS AND HNL-MEM....

It's really useless. PDX_SIN is shown as a nonstop. Codeshare cities are not shown at all, not even those served by KLM under NW code.

It shows direct flights non-stops. If you look at the details, it indicates 1-stop.

Go to the upper-left, select "Select Map Settings...". Then go to the "General Settings" option and check the box that says "Only Show Non-stop Flights". It's debatable whether this option should be checked by default or not.

It's not useless. It shows all NW-operated flights as well as through/connecting flights. PDX-SIN is one flight number and the map reflects that by drawing a route between the two. If you don't like it, turn on only non-stop flights per my instructions above.

It only shows trips that include one conenction and not all trips with only conenction are shown. For example, it says "sorry, no connections could be found, please try another destination" when you look for DCA-SIN, DCA-BOM or IAD-BOM. It shows MSP-BOM as going west via Seattle. SO it is useless, as far as I am concerned, other than the fact it is a novelty for NW. Many other airlines have had interactive maps for years.

Seems pretty useless to me. Told me that NW/KLM couldn't get me from AMS to NRT.

I agree I have been using the sky team one for the last month or two. All the NWA schedule programs have been giving me fits.

Apparently some people find it useful. For me, it doesn't even have an amusement value.

This tool has been around for years. It's not exactly KVS or ExpertFlyer, but it can be very helpful. One advantage is that it works off line. So if you find yourself in the air and you know you're going to be late and miss your connection, you can look up some other possibilities. (We all know that being informed can be helpful when dealing with the TA.)

Besides, nwa.com sucks when it comes to finding partner flights (AF, KL,...). This tool is MUCH better.
