I concur with Beckles. If NWA start transcontinental flights, I would seriously consider switching to NWA b/c of MJW.
BTW, MJW, can you work on starting transcontinental NWA routes please? http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif Thanks for the assisstance you have rendered to fellow Flyertalkers MJW! |
I certainly agree with all that MJW is a wonderful asset! Certainly wouldn't want to lose her/him.
I, too, have been concerned about the powers-that-be finding out about the super job being done and pulling MJW off the board and I thank all of you for showing such concern. It would a terrible loss if someone decided to quit going outside standard corporate policy and order MJW off our board. I think that as long as we self-police ourselves like we have been doing, we should be able to avoid overloading our "ace in the hole." MJW, let us know when promotion/evaluation time comes around; NWA might get some extra email or snail mail about one of its favored employees! Your #1 NWA Fan, -Harry |
You know, the amazing thing is that I haven't heard anyone really asking for special favors; people here are simply asking to be treated like good and valued customers. They want NWA (and other airlines, hotel chains, car rental companies, and long-distance companies) to offer good value and live up to their promises. This is reasonable; after all, we are good consumers of these services.
I think MJW has been terrific not only to us but also for NWA. I'm also really pleased that Hilton is taking the same steps to be present on FlyerTalk. I truly believe that companies that listen to their customers are the ones that succeed in the long term. |
MJW can be both an asset and detriment...She works with NWA and at times spreads the rhetoric of NWA ..and may not provide a independent view working with and for NWA to the benefit of the customer, only to that of customer policy...face it NWA holds the cards and they continually call the shots

"detriment"..."rhetoric"...I don't see this. It's possible, perhaps(?) that MJW may be a detriment. Yet you're speculating. Just as easy to speculate otherwise. Need some more justification for your consideration. I don't see it from what you've said. An Ad Hominem circumstantial in my view: working for NW doesn't necessarily impair his/her contribution to this board. |
Holy buckets...I'm a thread.
Pushpak - you have a wonderful sense of humor an I appreciate your concerns! To all, a clarification - I am "self-appointed" in the sense that I asked for this gig. I am not "un-official". My management (up to a senior level) knows about and supports my participation on FT. I have discussed my personal FT "code of conduct" with Randy. I don't use FT for free advertising. I don't post/reply on other airlines' bulletin boards. If either Randy or FT participants have a problem with me being here, I will bow out gracefully. My original intent when entering FT was to answer questions or clear up misunderstandings about WorldPerks. Since then, a couple of other things have evolved: 1. Customer service issues 2. Questions/suggestions about other NWA issues which are not directly related to WorldPerks 1. I have no problem following up on specific customer service issues for FT-ers. In fact, I APPRECIATE the opportunity to do so. In almost every case, it has allowed me to identify something on the NWA side that needed to be "fixed" or addressed in some way. Punki's cert problem identified a part of our online reference guide for agents which needed to be updated. TravelLover's retro issue signaled that we may have some agents who are not clear on how to properly deal with retro credit for WPs members with CO- issued tickets. Etc., etc. I have the chance to help out both customer and company...very cool for me. So let's just see how it goes. If it becomes a problem...well, we'll cross that bridge then. 2. I have received many suggestions/complaints/ideas on subjects which are outside the scope of WorldPerks Marketing. I am passing them along to other departments, but I need to be careful not to give the impression that I can follow up on all of them. I was a little too naive on that count! Obviously, my sphere of influence is really limited to WorldPerks. But if FT-ers have ideas, please do continue to post them. And, finally, I AM a representative of the airline and will defend NWA and the WorldPerks program when I feel it is appropriate. That may not sit well with all participants on FT. I believe the WorldPerks program is world-class and I believe NWA has been a great airline in the past, and will be again. That's not rhetoric...it's what I believe. As always, thanks for your feedback. |

Well said MJW! http://talk.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Thanks MJW, for everything, including the clarification of your more "official" status. It's extremely good to know that Senior management "approves" of you and what you are doing!
You have more than been meeting your original goals as you defined them, as easily evidenced by this boards content and the fact that people are very grateful is equally evident! It's people like yourself that can restore NWA to a more grand state! One need not look back very far to recall the relatively rapid and successful turnaround at CO! We all want to get there safely and on time, but beyond that it is customer service that distingushes one airline from another. You provide it! Thanks again! |
Ditto doc, steve100, Rudi, everyone. Thank you.
|
We may gripe about our airline, but there is nothing to complain about when it comes to MJW. I hereby nominate MJW for a special Freddy Award as biggest asset to a FF program. Who seconds my motion?
|
I'll be happy to if Punki doesn't beat me to it!
|
Three cheers for MJW. Now, if we could clone MJW and get the clones jobs at the other airlines, the world would be a better place. Don'tcha know
|
MJW- I appreciate your presence on this board.
I have had problems with NWA service, but have ALWAYS managed to get issues resolved ON THE SPOT, either with local personnel or on the phone with either WorldPerksServiceCenter or EliteLine people. Sometimes I think the resolution is less favorable than I expected, and sometimes the resolution is much more than I sought. When I have more time I intend to start a thread NWA- It's NORTHBEST, because overall that has been my experience! |
Northbest, huh? Well I for one like it and it's certainly better than Northworst, which I don't like all that much! Please forgive my broad smile, but you're not flying non-rev on NWA by chance, are you? MJW does her work at Northbest and I think we all hope that other NWA employees will defect and join her in droves- immediately! The jury is always out- perhaps we should leave it at just Northwest for now! Looking forward to the start of your new NWA thread and possibly contributing some positive comments toward it!
