The 26th is the Freddies at Gateway - I'm sure there'll be some NW senior management present. The 28th is that "other" meeting...

Also, don't forget that oversold bumps trump all waitlisted Elites. It only takes one severe oversold flight to take all F seats in the remaining day. That's what happened to my last MSP-SEA flight and I chose to be bumped and sit in F of course.

Are you sure about that? AFAIK, only bumps that have specifically negotiated to be rebooked in F (or have been offered F by the GA) would trump any elites.

If they were in Y, got bumped, and rebooked to Y. An elite still in Y would beat out a bumpee in Y on the FC waitlist.

(I think)

Yep, I had a Y BP on my original flight and when they were looking into the next available flights, they looked straight into F and told me one was all out but the later one still has F and booked me straight into that one. I didn't even try to ask but GA just offered it. There were other fellow bumpees in the F cabin too. The mileage credit remains the same though as nwa.com lists both Class Flown (F) and Class Purchased (K) and miles were based on purchased obviously. I remember someone mentioned this kind of booking called forced F.

I just found out that my travel agent was not adding the ticket number to the reservation record quite right. So NW wasn't trying to upgrade those reservations. Most of the time I was able to get the upgrade at the gate. Twice the gat agent came and got me out of my coach seat.

Hopefully, now that they are aware of the problem our corporate travel people will get it fixed.

I've had about 20% (4 of 20) segments miss an UG as a plat this year. A couple were on tickets I didn't buy until the day before travel but the other two were MSP-MEM on B fares purchased more than a week out.

The ironic thing is that after complaining about my woeful upgrade rate ex-DCA in this thread, I got EUA'ed for my Wednesday flight DCA-DTW for the first time in a year.

MSP-MEM is actually the only flight I've missed in the last two years. I've missed it one Monday morning this year - and most other weeks, I've gotten the upgrade at the gate and not from EUA.

>>>>>>Also, don't forget that oversold bumps trump all waitlisted Elites...

It's funny that after I earned my 5th upgrade guarantee bonus last night since March 1st (putting me at 58% upgrade success for this elite year as a plat) I had a nice conversation before boarding with a woman whose SEA-MSP flight was delayed so long that they let 5 people run to a gate for a LATER SEA-MSP flight, and they confirmed her through to Madison with boarding passes.

When I boarded in 5A I noticed that the guy who sat down in 5C had plat tags on his bag as he tucked it under 4B (I've removed my elite tags; sitting in back they have become an bit of an embarassment). Then I noticed that the woman I talked to in the gate area took a seat in 3B!

When I saw her later at baggage claim she raved about the wide seats and how exciting it was to sit in F, and that they must have booked her there after the problem in SEA. I didn't say anything about knowing anything about what first class is like, or status or anything. (It's becoming an embarassment.)

If I'm not in the confirmed 2% club, but all the 2% members don't show up, can I get a battlefield upgrade at the door???

I think it really comes down to two things.

They are trying to figure out the loads and adjusting them.
They have had so many over sold flights in the past 60 days, they are than moving those people into first which is taking up FC seats and not allowing them for battle field upgrades.

24/25 this yr, missed the MSP-SFO Sunday night 9 PM flight, i think i could of had it but checked in late.

Might miss the SJC-MSP flight this friday P6F3, i have seen everything form P0F0, P1F1, P4F3, This was all today. Now that the fare is 1300 any ticket bought and elite will get the FC seat. My 600 dollar ticket is peanuts.
