Think I was on a 1am red-eye also, and everything shut down around 11pm. Ended up watching movies on a laptop.

Actually, problem solved: the magic of WorldClubs! They're open until 10pm for just this purpose, I gather. And, they've got free beer.

The past few weeks I haven't had long connections, but was a bit hungry or thirsty for a beer.

Fuggedabout it. Everything closes at 9 or thereabouts. Sure, I can get McDonald's or Subway or maybe a single beer (no food) at TGI Fridays in the C concourse.

Any other NW flyers frustrated with this? It seems there's a lot of late flights and you'd think that some of these places could make a bit more moeny if they stayed open till 10, at least.
Well, if NW goes under (I hope not), MSP will become a true Ghost town and great people of MSP would need to take CRJs in order to connect anywhere.

I'm a member. But they don't serve hot food.

I'm very aware of that

Can you pick up some hot food in the airport just before MSP, wherever that is? At least you've got the free drinks in the WC, and perhaps the new snack basket in FC to tide you over between MSP-MSN. Unfortunately, MSP is not the only airport that is affected by this, so we all have to learn our own ways to cope.

FWIW, I do know for a fact that pizza chains will deliver to the airport. And, there's a really great little pizza joint on the northeast corner of the airfield that may even deliver. If you call it in ahead, they may be able to meet you on the upper-level shortly after you arrive. Or, you could head out, take a cab, grab some food, and get dropped off back in the terminal in under 20 minutes. I'm only half-serious...but I've heard of FFers doing stranger things to get what they want.
