EUA question.
My flight is Friday morning. I have been EUA'd for the first leg, but not for the second leg. My question is if I check in on line at the 24 hour mark, would EUA bypass me when it runs after I checkin? IN other words, am I reducing my chances of an upgrade if I cehckin?

I did it yesterday on a segment I didn't get a EUA on, and I got to the airport and asked if FC was full, they asked for my name and said i was #3 on the waitlist.
While I didn't get a UG regardless, I don't think doin OLCI made a difference or not.
YMMV but that's my experience from yesterday.

I checked in about 20 hours in advance of the deprature time of the first leg and checked yes to the question asking if I would like to be upgraded in case a seat became available. I asked the check in agent in MSY about the MSP-PDX leg. She said it lokked very good since I was at the top and there were still 4 seats being help for sale. She also said "These days day have been making a push to sell those seats. If they decide to sell those seats, I might not get the upgrade.".
Once in MSP< I went to the World Club and asked again. The asnwer was that I was almost asure to be upgraded. When I got to the gate, I asked the lady there. Even without looking, she said, "First class is full". I said "copuld you please look!" She agreed to look grudgingly. When I gave her my name, she said "Oh you are in FC, I have already printed yoiur boarding card". Still not sure why she had to answer FC is full without even asking my name.

Perhaps as a Plat or Gold, the mentality would be different; but as a Silver, I'm pretty content with whatever falls my way, and feel no compulsion to ask at the Gate.
